Team-building activities - Spider web

Spider web

We'll prepare a fun spider web for you that you'll have to get through, but without touching it! A corporate event with a spider web will be thrilling if your team building runs in a competitive form.

You'll get into a large spider web from which you must find your way out without touching the web, because every touch means going back to the start and trying again, or you get a penalty point that represents extra seconds. In your place we'd rather be slower but more precise. As they say, slow and steady gets you further, and that applies here too. If you touched it, you'd end up like a fly that the spider is already sharpening its teeth on, and you surely don't want that :-)

You have to crawl under, step over, maybe even jump – simply look for suitable solutions for how to get to the finish without contact with the web. You crawl through either individually or holding hands with the others on the team. The second variant is much more demanding, so at the beginning try the simpler one. Once you're sufficiently practised and know the web well, try the more demanding one.

Activity process

At the venue we'll stretch ropes and create a spider web that will be fastened to trees or solid objects that are on-site. Your task will be to get to the finish without touching the web. If you touch it, you have to go back and try again. Who will be the fastest? Our instructor watches that they send you back to the start at every touch, checks the crawling through the openings, monitors time. The times of the individual team members are added up, and the highest number of points will go to the team with the shortest time.

We'll prepare the spider web at the place of your corporate event where it can be fastened. It's a fun activity for every outdoor team building, and if it can be fastened somewhere indoors, it'll be no problem to prepare it as part of an indoor team building too.
